Introduction to ASP

The purpose of this course is to introduce you to ways to apply ASP to your day to day web design work. ASP is a programming language  for the Windows environment on IBM and compatible computers. It is produced by Microsoft Corporation.

This course is divided into six main sections: introduction, general maintenance functions, design, searching, and presentation. The terminology and concepts provide a base for ASP "literacy". The class exercises provide "hands-on" experience.

The course is designed for the first-time ASP user. More than 70% of the class time is hands-on use of ASP.

Objectives

• Become familiar with the terminology and major functions of ASP
• Edit existing, add new, and delete old database records
• Design and create a web page using ASP
• Search a database for particular information
• Design and run an ASP page
