Web Server

If the ACT! for Web software is installed on your company's Web server, you'll want to ensure your server meets these minimum requirements. All software is required to be installed on your server and updated with the most current patches available.

Hardware Requirements:
Below you will find general outlines of hardware requirements for number of users, processor speed and memory. A Pentium class processor or equivalent is sufficient.
 

Note: The information referenced above is a general outline. You may have optimal performance with hardware requirements that are different than what is referenced. It is always better to have more memory and a faster processor. Network connection speed, network traffic, ACT! database size, and other items may be a factor when evaluating performance.

Operating System Software Requirements for the Web Server:

• Windows NT 4.0 or above Workstation/Server
• Windows 2000 Professional/Server

Additional Server Requirements:

• Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) 4.0 or later
• CD - ROM drive
• ACT! for Windows version 5.04 or later
• Network Interface Card (NIC)
• Static IP address (recommended)
• 50MB free hard drive space, plus space for ACT! database
• VGA or higher monitor resolution
• High speed Internet and/or TCP/IP connection (Internet is optional, but required for ACT! for Web access outside of the company's network)

System Requirements for Wired Contact

Web Server Requirements:

	Windows 2000 Server with Internet Information Server (IIS) 5 or NT Server with IIS 4.
	For installs of up to 10, you can also use Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP Professional with IIS 5 - or - Windows NT 4 Workstation (Service Pack 4) with IIS 4
	ACT! version 6.0+, 5.0.4.495 or 5.0.3.454
	ACT! database - must either be colocated on the Web Server or be able to “see” the ACT! database via Microsoft Networking and have full access (security and share) rights to the database folder
	WiredContact software
	Static IP address (preferred) with a persistent connection to the Internet

The speed of the processor on your web server is a key factor in determining the performance of WiredContact. The specifications of your web server depend upon the size of your ACT! database, number of users and Internet connection speed. We recommend up to 75 ACT! users per web server. You may use multiple web servers running WiredContact to access a single ACT! database. See the recommended WiredContact product based on server speed and user internet connectivity environment.

The User workstations are up to you.  Here are their guidelines.
