How to set up your Google Scholar Profile
- more than just a simple Google search for your name

Advantages
1.
People can find your research more easily with https://scholar.google.com/citations
2. You can add any articles or books that Google may have missed, to increase your H Index
3. You will receive an email when other scholars reference your work, increasing your citations
so you can find out who is citing your work and see their citations.

4. People will not see a "not found" message
"Your search - your name - didn't match any user profiles." for example:

Here are the 7 minute steps to establish your own permanent Google Scholar Profile

1. Have or establish a free Google email account (Gmail)
2. Go to http://scholar.google.com
3. Click "My Citations" at the top
You will be prompted to establish your profile with name, degree, and details
4. Enter your preferred email (such as ".edu") and confirm it
5. Click "+Add" and select the publications Google has found.
6.  Click the "left" arrow to find your Citation Count and H Index is computed
7. You can add a profile photo, and any publications Google may have missed

Examples of Scholars whose research I am following, sorted by Hirsch Index then Last Name

My favorite research topics: TM, 9/11, Moon landing, Critical Thinking, Skepticism

Google Scholar pages which are permanent (i.e. created by the scholar's own Gmail account) are in Bold and green with a hyperlink
Non-bold screen photos are in a light red box and are made of temporary listings using my Gmail account.  Gray means deceased.
= not established yet, general Google search only     = established Google Scholar Profile Page

He returned to Berkeley in 1946 and received his Ph.D. in 1947. From 1947 to 1970 he was a member of the Michigan State University Psychology faculty. He joined the faculty at the University of Western Ontario from 1970 to 1972, and he then moved to Washington State University where he worked in sociology and psychology from 1972 to 1986. He joined the faculty at the University of Southern California in 1986. PDF 24 Goodwin Watson, PhD
Columbia University, Teachers College
1899-1976
Goodwin Watson notes milestones in his life and career, including his PhD in educational psychology, attendance at Union Theological Seminary, and joining the Columbia University Teachers College faculty. During 1925-1942, Watson earned the reputation of being not only a thoughtful activist and innovator but also a scholar and researcher. After World War II, he became chief of the Analysis Division of the Foreign Broadcast Intelligence Service, but within two years was forced out of office as a "disloyal citizen" by what was then known as the Dies Committee. He had gone to the Soviet Union and to Nazi Germany and had reported on features of their systems, including educational, that he considered promising. He held a professorship at Newark State College until 1970. In 1963, Watson and James P. Dixon were founders of the Union of Experimenting Colleges, an outgrowth of which was the creation of the University Without Walls.

Dr. Fred Travis, Chair of the Department of Maharishi Vedic Science and Director of the Center for Brain, Consciousness, and Cognition, welcomes you with this message:

“Take time for yourself. In the Maharishi Vedic Science degree, you will explore the full range of life and human potential, both in theory and in practice, and learn how to apply this knowledge to enrich all aspects of life. Maharishi explains that consciousness is the light by which we see the world. By increasing your inner light, you will transform every perception. This is the purpose of this program.”

Even though Mark Basile has publications on the general Google page,
which may list other people named "Mark" or "Basile"
he has no Google Scholar Profile Page, so it says "didn't match any user profiles"

Hirsch Index

Hirsch Index is an objective measure of a scholar's publications and references to them, sometimes used in tenure decisions.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H-index

It was developed by Dr. Jorge E. Hirsch, (PhD, Physics) a professor of Physics at the University of California, San Diego.
