[1] Only the Ticket view is supported.
[2] While it is possible to synchronize GoldMine 5.5 with GoldMine 5.0, FrontRange Solutions recommends that both the server and the remote systems run the same version and build to reduce the occurrence of compression and encryption related errors.
[3] While it is possible to synchronize GoldMine 5.5 with GoldMine 5.0, FrontRange Solutions recommends that both the server and the remote systems run the same version and build to reduce the occurrence of compression and encryption related errors.
[4] Data is replicated in Contsupp (not really synchronized) from GMSS 5.5 to GMSM 5.5 via the Ticket Transfer Service.
[5] Data is replicated in Contsupp (not really synchronized) from GMSS 5.5 to GMSM 5.5 via the Ticket Transfer Service.
[6] Novell Client32 Drivers are not supported by the FRS Support Services Team. The Microsoft Client for Netware is required to receive support. Please refer to Factsback #348 for more details ftp://ftp.goldmine.com/public/faxback/tech/348.zip
[7] Issues have been reported with the integration between GMSM and GMSS.
[8] Requires IE 5.x
[9] Ibid.
[10] Ibid.
[11] Ibid.
[12] Ibid.
[13] Ibid.
[14] FrontRange is currently evaluating Microsoft Certification for Windows 2000, however, the products are compatible and supported.
[15] Issues have been reported with Internet E-mail retrieval and sending locks ups
[16] Requires Macintosh Runtime for Java 2.2.4 or greater.
[17] GoldMine Everywhere Java Client only, with Microsoft IE 4 or greater.
[18] Ibid.
[19] Please refer to Tech Insight 031601(MS SQL 2000).doc for details on BITS 2000 Call ID: 00008449, which relates to a SQL Error 207, which occurs on MS SQL Server 2000 during transfer set creation.
[20] If using Crystal 8 with the Answer Wizard (which is an unsupported environment by FrontRange), it is necessary to use Crystal 7 to modify Ticket.dc5 file (the Crystal Dictionary).
[21] Must use MS Outlook plug-in
[22] Synchronization of Contacts is supported but Calendar synchronization is not supported at this time.
[23] Ibid.
[24] Same version/builds of GoldMine/GoldMine Sales and Marketing can support multiple language settings for different systems on the same network installation.
However, each machine accessing the network version of GoldMine/GoldMine Sales and Marketing must use the same BDE language driver. Any GoldMine Index/Pack and Rebuild process for systems that do not share the same BDE language driver will cause problems with the conversion of High ASCII characters.
In addition, same version/builds of GoldMine/GoldMine Sales and Marketing can support synchronization between multiple language systems (i.e., a French undocked user of GoldMine 5.0 can synchronize with a German GoldMine 5.0 site). Again however, each user's/site's system must use the same BDE language driver.

GoldMine Version 5.50.10424 for Windows 95/98/2000/NT 4.0 Release Notes
GENERAL
Changed: GoldMine loads even when the License.dbf file has been set up as "read-only", under NTFS security now. NOTE: GoldMine users that will perform maintenance, updates or new\undocked licensing should have full NTFS control over the license.dbf file.
Changed: Passwords in GoldMine are now fully secured and protected extraction/detection by external applications (i.e., Revelation).
Fixed: Formatting problem when entering negative values in completed sales.
New: Paper-clip visual indicator on the message icon available from all of the E-mail Center's folders to show the presence of an attachment.
New: Copy name to clipboard ability for E-mail file attachments to quickly reattach files when replying or drafting new messages. Access by right clicking on the attachments browse listing of the E-mail re: read window.
New: Show full path name setting for viewing E-mail file attachments. Access by sticky user setting right clicking on the attachments browse listing of the E-mail re: read window.
New: By default, GoldMine now uses the To: address of an original message as the address for the From: line in the reply message. NOTE: The From: address will be auto-filled when replying only if an Internet profile under Edit|Preferences|Internet|Accounts has been defined for that address.
New: Moving incoming e-mail attachments now also update the related contact's Links tab File location when the Save attachments as linked documents check option is enabled under Edit|Preferences|Internet|More Options|Retrieval
New: E-mail template macro to optionally determine whether to include a specified filename in the message body based on an xBase expression now parses the included file, which makes it possible to embed template fields within the included file. Access by inserting <<file:expression?pathname\file-name>> into the body of any E-mail template where a <<file:pathname\filename>> macro already exists.
New: Ability to specify character set encoding for message headers with High ASCII characters. Access via Edit|Preferences|Internet|More Options|Misc by typing the appropriate value in the Encode E-mail using character set: field. NOTE: If this field has no value, GoldMine doesn't send any character set headers. Each message recipient's client would then use the default character set for displaying.
New: GoldMine now sends e-mail to CompuServe addressees only as non-HTML messages to ensure viewing by CompuServe, which does not support HTML.
Changed: Create E-mail window's Rich Text (HTML) toolbar no longer offers a font highlight property.
Changed: E-mail sent to a GoldMine Distribution List type recipient, is marked as unlinked by default. Checking the Link option stores the message in the History tab of the currently active contact record.
Changed: Attachments retrieved with encrypted e-mail messages are hidden from users now if the wrong value is keyed into the Enter Password window to provide additional security.
Changed: E-mail templates now contain complete header information when performing mass merges.
Changed: If the result of a merged e-mail template appears to be HTML-based (including any attached files for that e-mail template), the resulting e-mail is now marked as an HTML message to enable all clients to properly view the message.
Changed: A "blank" value is no longer accepted for the Attachments directory: setting under Edit|Preferences|Internet|More Options|Retrieval.
Changed: E-mail Center Empty Trash Can local menu option is no longer active unless the Deleted folder is in focus.
Changed: Web Imports retrieved via E-mail now display messages to indicate whether the import succeeded, failed or generated a duplicate.
Changed: Selecting the Enable IE as E-mail viewer check option under Edit|Preferences|Internet|More Options|Advanced now automatically disables the Extract embedded HTML as attachment check option.
Fixed: Access violation error when attempting to print a message from the Create E-mail window, which contained two redirectors within the message body (e.g., having both mailto:sales@frontrange.com and www.frontrange.com appear in the same message).
Fixed: E-mail templates usage problem where non-Master Rights users that did not have the Templates option enabled under their Access to Others user properties could not access their own e-mail templates.
Fixed: E-mail templates usage problem where non-Master Rights users did not have the Merge option enabled in Document Management Center local menu if the Net-Update Connections check option for their user properties was not enabled.
Fixed: E-mail templates bug where HTML e-mail templates could not be sent. This issue occurred only if the Extract embedded HTML as attachment option was enabled under Edit|Preferences|Internet|More Options|Advanced.
Fixed: E-mail templates bug where merged HTML e-mail messages were viewable only as HTML attachments by non-GoldMine users.
Fixed: Mailto: function problem where the user's Default template for new outgoing E-mail messages was not used when the Use GoldMine as Explorer's e-mail client check option was enabled.
Fixed: Vcard import failure whenever a password was set for the [WebImport] section of the GM.ini.
Fixed: Rare IPF when retrieving very large e-mail messages by double-clicking while Online.
Fixed: Obscure message retrieval header decoding problem when message headers contain mixed encoded/non-encoded parts.
Fixed: Message retrieval header problem for non-HTML e-mails where International characters were sometimes being stripped.
Fixed: Potential scenario where the E-mail Center was being launched twice.
Fixed: Message display problem where multi-part mail sent from Lotus Notes was not viewable after Online retrieval if the message's Show Header option was set to Summary or Complete.
Fixed: E-mail Rules display failure where the E-mail Rule: Condition was not viewable if the Use Large Font check option was enabled under Edit|Preferences|Record.
Fixed: Minor display problem where the View in Browser icon on the read e-mail window was not visible for certain types of non-standard e-mails.
OUTLOOK/PDA/CE
Changed: When setting Pilot Synchronization: Record Selections options, linked activities in GoldMine that fall outside the specified start/end date range of the Contacts with calendar activities from: check box are no longer synchronized to the Palm.
Fixed: Functional failure under the Palm 3.5 OS where linked (/L) contacts were synchronized as unlinked from the Palm to GoldMine.
Fixed: Data loss issue when creating a new mapping, or changing the Default Mapping, accessed via File|Synchronize|Synchronize with Pilot under the Advanced|Field Mapping page.
Fixed: Palm Fatal Error when synchronizing un-timed or un-prioritized activities from GoldMine, which forced users to Reset the Palm.
Fixed: Selection problem when setting the Pilot Synchronization: User's Calendar Selections option for My Calendar where GoldMine sent ALL the users' calendars instead of the user's calendar only.
Fixed: Obscure selection problem when setting the Pilot Synchronization: User's Calendar Selections option for Others' Calendar where GoldMine sent ALL the users' calendars instead of the specified user(s) only.
