5 day course

This course provides a technical overview of the SCO System V hardware and operations system environment as well as hands-on experience using commands and tiles. It explores the basic structure, functions and tools of the UNIX System V operating system. Upon completion of this course, students will understand the basic system design and be able to execute fundamental commands to carry out routine tasks without administrator assistance.

Participants will:

• Understand how the operating system works
• run programs using basic UNIX System V commands
• edit and manipulate files
• send and receive electronic mail
• use shell commands
• control processes and process output

Familiarity and confidence with computer hardware and software concepts

New Unix System V users who need to use the operating system as a regular computer tool at work or at home.
