This is most awesome program we've ever downloaded from the Internet.  It's big at 184 megabytes, but worth every byte. Plus, it is free.

NASA created this program that lets you spin the globe, then click to zoom in on almost any location with amazing detail, especially in the USA.   You can even see cars on the street.
 
It is best used with a mouse that has a roller so you can easily zoom in.  Or you can use the Home key on your keypad.  The left mouse is for moving towards a point.  The right mouse is for panning and tilting the horizon. The F9 key puts a cross in the middle to help in zooming.  The USGS Urban Area mode gives the best detail.  Depending on your computer and connection, it may take a minute to get all the detail.
 
It is an excellent way to find your way with directions to a new location.  It is better than some services that charge $29 per month for the same photos, but in a smaller window.  This provides a full screen view.
 
Real estate investors can use it to find good locations to buy.  Law enforcement personnel can use it to preview a location before going there.   Private investigators, and attorneys can use it to make presentations in court. 
 
Once you install it you can point and click or type in a Latitude and Longitude to view.  Here are some sample locations at http://CICorp.com/project/NASA then click on the World Wind link near the bottom.
 
You can also make custom XML scripts to make moving pictures, showing the route from one location to another, as if you are in a helicopter. This makes it practical to put our latitude and longitude on our business cards.
 
This software really shows our place in the world, and remind us of what a small world it is after all.
