Public Radio: Armenia Gunmen who burst into the Armenian parliament building yesterday, killing the prime minister and other officials, surrendered this morning. They turned over their weapons and released dozens of hostages, after they were promised a fair trial. Robert discusses the incident with Lawrence Sheets, Caucuses Bureau Chief for Reuters News Agency in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. Sheets explains the political and economic conditions which may have motivated the gunmen. He says the assassinations may hamper the peace talks with Azerbaijan. |
