Any DSL or faster connection is just fine for the S3.
The control screen shows its bandwidth load, about 3 kilobits per second (kb/s).
Typical DSL speeds are 10 megabits or 10000 kilobits per second
So it is only using .03 % of the total capacity.



1) Power consumption: This figure depends on the power supply efficiency, ambient temperature and the accuracy of the power meters.

2) The BitMain S3 ships without a PSU, so we recommend ThermalTakes's 700 W power supply. There are 4 PCI-e connectors for +12V DC input, but it only needs to connect two of them if without over-clocking (trying for more Bitcoin, yet with increased heat).   Note: dont parallel connected different DC input from different PSU into the same Hashing board.


Stand alone: The S3 mines stand alone, and needs no proxy server.

Quiet: The customized heat sinks mounted to the hash boards, one box over S3 to control the air flow, two fans mounted on both front and back ends that mean fans are able to work at lower speed to dissipate all heat easily. This design let S3 run at much lower noise level than the S1 and S2.

What do Bitcoin mining machines do to deserve earning money?

I have tried my hand at BitCoin Mining, using my computer lab of 15 computers.
I'll let you know if I make much money from them.  About half of the Bitcoin numbers
have already been found, and it is getting harder to mine new ones as the 21 million limit is reached.
So the new Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) machines are needed.
